Freestanding furniture wastes the space above it and never quite meets the wall. Built-in wardrobes and alcove units use the full height of the room and close the gaps at the sides, which in most Wirral and Liverpool bedrooms is a surprising amount of extra hanging and shelf space.

01How we do it

How it is done

The inside is the part you use every morning and the part most fitted wardrobes get wrong, so we set the layout out with you before anything is made: long hanging, short hanging, drawer heights and where the shoes go.

Chimney breasts, sloping ceilings, dormers and the odd soil pipe in a corner are normal work rather than a reason for a filler panel. In the older stock across the Wirral and south Liverpool almost nothing is square, so everything is scribed in on site.

Doors are hung and adjusted after the carcasses are fixed, so the gaps are even and everything closes cleanly rather than being left to settle.

Can you build around a sloping ceiling?

Yes. Eaves and dormer cupboards are some of the most useful storage in a house and they have to be made on site, which is what we do.

Do you paint them?

We can leave them primed and ready for your decorator, or finish them. Say which when you enquire.
