Commercial joinery in Widnes and Runcorn
Widnes and Runcorn are industrial and new-town, and nearly everything we do there is commercial.

Industrial estates and unit offices
Widnes, Runcorn and the Halton estates between them hold a very large amount of industrial and distribution space, and the joinery that goes with it is internal: offices built inside units, welfare and canteen areas, training rooms, meeting rooms and the partitions and boxing in that make them work.
A portal frame unit is a different problem from an office floor. The structure is steel on a grid, the walls are often profiled sheet rather than anything you can fix to, and the floor is power-floated concrete. An internal office has to be a freestanding timber structure that is tied in sensibly rather than hung off whatever is nearest, and the boxing in around the steels is what stops it looking like a shed with partitions in it.
Noise, dust and access routes all matter more when the rest of the building is operating. We agree the route in, protect what we are crossing, and clear down daily.
Runcorn new town
Runcorn's newer areas were planned and built in one go, which gives the same advantage as Kirkby or Leasowe on the housing side: consistent, predictable building types. On the commercial side the business park stock is of a similar age and similar construction, which makes pricing accurate.
Frodsham and Helsby at the edge are older and more varied, with some genuinely old property where a look is needed before a price.
Distance and what it means
It is a comfortable run from the Wirral through the tunnel or round, well inside the range we cover for commercial work, and the travel does not change the price on a job of normal size.
Domestic work this far out is the exception. For anything small, somebody closer will serve you better and we will tell you so.
The Mersey Gateway bridge changed the practical geography here more than people outside the area realise. Getting between Widnes and Runcorn, and across to Chester and the Wirral, is quick and predictable now in a way it was not before, and that is part of why this area is comfortably inside the range we cover rather than at the edge of it.
