Fit-outs, benching and workstation runs, stud partitions and timber framing, boxing in and column casings, and first and second fix carpentry. Offices, schools and colleges, training centres, shops, industrial units and landlord work.

Most of it comes through main contractors, facilities teams and fit-out companies rather than direct, and it is priced from drawings where there are drawings and from a site visit where there are not.

Nearly all of this work happens in a building that is still being used, or on a site with several other trades in it. That means the programme matters more than the joinery: being ready when the room is ready, not holding up the ceiling grid, and not needing the floor before the floor is down.

We work to the contractor's sequence rather than around it, tell you what has to be ready before we start, and say early if something has slipped rather than turning up to a room that is not ready. Out-of-hours and phased work is possible where it is agreed before the price is fixed.

Dust control, protecting what is staying, keeping routes clear and clearing down at the end of every day are part of the job rather than extras.

Manchester, Salford, Trafford and Stockport to the east; Preston, Chorley, Bolton, Wigan and Leigh to the north; Northwich, Winsford and Crewe to the south; Chester, Deeside, Flint, Mold and Wrexham to the west. Warrington, Widnes, Runcorn, St Helens, Skelmersdale and Ormskirk in between.

Inside that range the travel does not change the price on a job of normal size. Further out than that, or for a very small job at the edge of it, the work is priced around the travel and the size of the job, and we will say so at the enquiry rather than build it quietly into a number.
