Joiner in Bromborough and Eastham
Bromborough is two things at once: village cores and postwar estates, and one of the biggest concentrations of commercial units on the Wirral.

The commercial side
Bromborough has more light industrial and trade units than anywhere else on the peninsula, from the older estates near the Port to the newer sheds off the bypass. That is a steady source of the commercial work we are set up for: offices inside units being reconfigured, mezzanine offices fitted out, welfare and training rooms built, and the boxing in and partitioning that goes with all of it.
Unit work has its own rhythm. There is normally a working business either side of the wall, the floor is likely to be power-floated concrete rather than something you can fix into lightly, and the ceiling is often open to the deck with services running through where a partition wants to go. We frame around services rather than through them, and we set out from a laser because a unit's blockwork is rarely a reference you can trust.
The housing
Away from the estates, Bromborough and Eastham are mostly postwar semis and detached with a handful of older village properties at the cores, and Thornton Hough and Raby are genuinely rural with the estate cottages that go with that. The postwar houses are easy to work in: regular openings, blockwork that takes a fixing, and enough space outside to set up.
Kitchens, wardrobes and flooring make up most of the domestic work here, with a fair amount of garage and utility conversion, which usually means a run of fitted storage and a door where there used to be an opening.
Access
On the industrial estates access is usually excellent and deliveries straightforward, which is part of why commercial work here is efficient. The constraint is almost always the client's own operation rather than the building.
In the villages, access is the opposite: narrow lanes, no pavement in places and nowhere obvious for a van. Thornton Hough in particular needs a bit of planning before a delivery.
