Joinery across the Liverpool districts
These are the Liverpool districts that do not have a page of their own. We are in all of them, through the tunnel and out.

The inner districts
Anfield, Everton, Walton, Kensington, Clubmoor and Tuebrook are dense terraced housing, much of it late Victorian, and the joinery issues are consistent across all of them: openings that have moved, staircases that creak, doors that were replaced badly in the eighties, and trim that has been over-boarded rather than taken off and renewed.
The best value work in these houses is a list done in one visit. There is almost always more than one thing wrong and they are nearly all small, so a half day gets through a surprising amount.
The suburbs and the parks
Wavertree, Sefton Park, Toxteth and Dingle have the larger Victorian terraces and villas, many of them subdivided at some point and some put back together since. The joinery in them is worth keeping: moulded architrave, panelled doors, staircases with the original balustrade where a conversion did not take it out.
Work here leans towards matching and repair, with fitted storage in the big bedrooms as the most common addition.
The outer estates
Norris Green, Croxteth, Fazakerley, Belle Vale, Netherley and Halewood are largely planned postwar estates. The house types repeat, the openings are regular and the floors are usually solid, which makes the work predictable and keeps the price sensible.
Kitchens are the most common job, and specifically making a small kitchen work harder with full-height units and a properly planned corner rather than moving any walls.
North of the city and up the coast
Aintree, Orrell Park, Netherton and Hightown cover a wide range, from interwar semis through to the larger Victorian property nearer the coast.
North of there is the far edge of what we cover, and it is worth being straight about that: for a job of decent size it is no trouble, and for one small item somebody closer will serve you better.
