Most flooring problems are subfloor problems. Boards that lift, creak or open up at the joints are usually telling you the floor underneath was not flat or dry enough when they went down.
What is included

- Subfloor levelled, dried and prepared before anything is laid
- Floated, glued or secret-nailed as the floor and the product require
- Beading, thresholds and scotia fitted, doors trimmed to suit
- Old floor coverings lifted and taken away
We check the subfloor for level and moisture before we quote, and we allow for the boards to acclimatise in the room first. Expansion gaps are left where they need to be and hidden under the skirting or beading, which is what stops a floor buckling in summer.
Herringbone and parquet take longer to set out because the pattern has to be centred on the room and square to the main sight line. Getting that wrong is obvious forever, so we set it out and check it before laying.
