McGuinness’s Joinery works across Southport and the surrounding areas, building and fitting bespoke joinery for homes and businesses — kitchens, fitted wardrobes, staircases, doors, flooring, built-in storage and whole-property fit-outs.

Made to the room, not to a catalogue

Most of the housing stock around Southport, Birkdale and Churchtown is old enough that nothing in it is truly square. Standard units and off-the-shelf sizes leave gaps, and gaps get filled with strips of trim that never look right. We measure on site, cut to what is actually there, and scribe the work in so it sits tight against the wall.

You deal with the person doing the work. That means you get a straight answer about what something costs, how long it takes and what needs to happen first — and if we find something behind the old units that changes the job, you hear about it that day rather than at the end.

Finished properly

The last five per cent is the part people remember: even margins, tight mitres, filled and sanded fixings, doors that close without being pushed. It takes longer and it is the reason the work still looks right in five years.

We carry public liability insurance on every job. Floors get covered before we start, waste goes with us rather than into your bin, and the room is swept and usable at the end of each day.
